Privacy policy
This policy describes how AUOdds ("we") handles personal information. We operate from New South Wales, Australia. Contact: hello@auodds.com.
Some small businesses with annual turnover under A$3 million are exempt from the Australian Privacy Principles. We still follow this policy so you know what we collect and why. If the Privacy Act applies to us in full (including if we become an APP entity), this policy is how we meet those obligations.
1. What we collect
- Account: email address, password hash (not the password itself), API key, plan, account status, terms-acceptance time
- Usage: login times, API calls, IP address, browser type, pages on auodds.com, how far you scroll, which sections you view, the buttons and links you click, and the ad or link that brought you
- Support: emails you send to hello@, admin@, or support@auodds.com
- Payments: email, payment and subscription status, customer / payment / subscription identifiers, refund and dispute events. We do not store full card numbers. Card payments are processed by our payment partner, which keeps your card for weekly renewals; we keep only a reference to it and its brand and last four digits.
- Cookies / local storage: session and API key on your device for sign-in, and the analytics cookies described in section 9
We do not collect tax file numbers, health records, or identity documents unless a law later requires checks we have not implemented. We do not collect your bookmaker account balances or betting history - we do not have access to them.
2. Why we collect it
- To create and secure your Partner account and API key
- To provide the odds board, alerts, and streams you paid for
- To send confirmation, password-reset, billing, and outage email
- To detect abuse, outages, and billing events (paid, refunded, disputed, failed, cancelled)
- To meet Australian Consumer Law and tax record-keeping if they apply
- To understand how visitors use auodds.com and which ads and links bring them, so we can improve the site
We do not sell your email list. We do not use your account information to profile you for other businesses' ads.
3. Who we share with
- Hosting and infrastructure partners, so we can run the website, API, and accounts
- Domain and DNS partners, so auodds.com resolves
- Email delivery partners, so we can send and receive service mail
- Our payment partner, so we can take subscription payments, refunds, and dispute notices
- Analytics and advertising partners (Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity, and Meta), which receive page, device, and visit information from your browser when you visit auodds.com. When you leave your email on the join page, join, or pay, we also send Meta a one-way scrambled (hashed) copy of your email address with your IP address and browser details through its Conversions API, so Meta can match the visit to a Facebook or Instagram account and show us which ads bring members.
- The law: if a court, regulator, or Australian law requires it
We use those partners only to operate AUOdds. We do not sell personal information. Servers and backups are intended to stay in Australia. Some partner services may process a copy of account, email, or payment data on their own systems, which may be outside Australia, under those partners' own privacy terms.
4. Overseas disclosure
If the Privacy Act APPs apply, sending personal information outside Australia can be an APP 8 disclosure. Our hosting, email, and payment partners may store or access data outside Australia. We use them only to run the service. We do not sell that access.
5. Security and retention
Passwords are stored as one-way hashes. API keys are secrets; rotate them if leaked. We keep account and billing records while the account exists and for a reasonable period after closure (typically up to 7 years if needed for tax or dispute records). Operational logs retain recent send attempts and payment events (identifiers and status, not card numbers) so we can see failures.
6. Access, correction, complaints
You may request access to or correction of the personal information we hold, or complain about our handling of it, by emailing hello@auodds.com. We will respond in a reasonable time. If the Privacy Act applies to us as an APP entity, you may then contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au). If we are a small business operator under s 6D, the OAIC process may not apply; consumer issues can still go to NSW Fair Trading or the ACCC.
7. Direct marketing and Spam Act
We may email service notices (outages, billing, security, password reset). Those are not marketing. Marketing emails, if we send them, will include an unsubscribe and will only go to people who have a relationship with us or who consented, consistent with the Spam Act 2003 (Cth). If you enter your email on our join page but don't finish joining, we may send you up to three reminders about finishing, each with an unsubscribe link. Members who leave may get up to four emails about coming back, also with an unsubscribe link. We will not buy or sell marketing lists as part of this product.
8. Children
The service is for people 18 years or older. We do not knowingly create accounts for children. If we learn an account belongs to a child, we will close it.
9. Cookies
We use local storage for your session and API key so you stay signed in on that browser.
Our own visit statistics use no cookies: a visitor is counted with a one-way code that changes every day, so nobody can be followed from one day to the next.
On our public pages we also use Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity. They set their own cookies to measure visits and to show us how pages are used, including heatmaps and recordings of visits with typed text and form fields masked. The Meta pixel also runs on our public pages so we can see which ads bring visitors and sign-ups; it sets Meta's cookies.
Our emails include a tiny image and links that tell us when an email is opened and which link is clicked, so we can see which emails help and improve them. Most email apps let you turn images off.
You can block or delete these cookies in your browser settings. Sign-in and the service keep working without them.
